ROBERT CAUDILL Senior Instructor Mr. Caudill has served as a Virginia Beach Police Officer from 1998 to present. He worked street narcotics for two years as a member of the Community Policing Unit and is now assigned to the SWAT Team, where he participates in high-risk warrant service and the resolution of high-threat tactical situations.
Mr. Caudill served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1998. His operational highlights include:
Command of a Small Boat Raider Platoon (3rd Bn 1st Marines) Special Operations Capable. He participated in Operation Desert Storm (Ceasefire) and Operation United Shield, conducting the last boat operation into Mogadishu and the evacuation of all U.N. personnel remaining in Somalia. Commanded the 1st Marine Regiment T.O.W.S. Missile, Heavy Anti-Tank Platoon and Series Commander 2nd Bn MCRD Parris Island. Company Commander of Instructional Training Company, Parris Island, where he commanded units responsible for training all new Marines in academics, swimming, and hand to hand combat. It was in this command that he served with Gunnery Sergeant Hans Marrero, as his Company First Sergeant, and was certified as a Marine Corps Close Combat Instructor and received his black belt in Shorinji-Kenpo and Kyo kushin Kai.
